PaperFace Team Proposal

Hey everyone,
So here is the deal, I have WAY too much on my plate to do as much with PaperFace as I would like so I would like to propose to the Flash/Flex community to form a dev team to pick up the pace a little bit.

Please send me an email if you would be interested in joining the team. marc@marcpelland.com

thanks,
Marc

PaperFace 0.2 - updated

It has been a couple weeks since I last posted an update to PaperFace but that is because I have been rebuilding it from the ground up now that I have a little better idea of how I hope it will end up.

Along with the rebuilt, I have implemented the following into 0.2:
** FrontEnd
- Transform tools to move objects in scene (use A to switch axis in perspective)
- Camera transform capability (clicking in the scene and dragging)
- Camera zoom capability (use the mousewheel)
- Multiple views - Front, Left, Top and Perspective
- New panel system that hasn't caused issues with resizing

PaperFace Re-Code

So I decided that I needed to re-code the entire application but have been too busy to do very much about it.

I have started on v0.2 and am working on getting a new release online by Friday.

In the new version I already have a more stable panel system, I have added some new extended primitives, and a couple other fun tweaks. I am also hoping to create a more complex, but user friendly viewport.

It is coming

Well, I took the weekend off from working and now am back at it. I am crazy busy on another project that I am working on but home to find some time over the next couple days to re-work a lot of the functionality and come out with something that feels a lot better to work with.

I managed to find a stockpile of other primitives that I am going to include in the next update and I am going to try and get at least some basic interactivity and maybe some materials. We will see what happens but I would expect something by this coming weekend.

cheers,
Marc

Flex 3

I have been meaning to make some updates to the interface but my trial of Flex expired over the weekend. With any luck I will win a license later today through the Papervision3D forum and be working on PaperFace again in no time.

The contest was for writing a beginners guide to papervision, which can be found at www.marcpelland.com/tutorials/ .

Interface Update

I have been a little busy these past couple of days, so there is nothing major in this latest update, but I have updated the menus a little bit with more wish list stuff.

The biggest thing in this update, however, is the addition of movable panels and the viewport area as well as the output panel are now resizable.

Update - Camera Controls

These still need some work but I have started creating a toolbar on the left side of the screen and added some camera controls. I didn't have the time to have them update the Camera panel so currently they can just be used to play with.
